Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hotel

An icon of motor sports, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has been in operation for over 100 years! The Speedway covers 253 acres making it the world’s largest spectator sporting facility.  It is home to three of the world’s major racing events.

Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix (MotoGP World Championship Series): This is one of the wildest and most exciting motorcycle races in the world.  The three elite classes of the MotoGP compete on a 16-turn, 2.621-mile road course thrilling fans with knee skimming runs along the asphalt and breathtaking maneuvers on the corners.

Brickyard 400 (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series): The Brickyard 400 is NASCAR’s most attended race with estimated attendance of more than 250,000.  Initially the speedway course was paved in brick and nicknamed the “Brickyard”, thus giving this 400-mile race its name.  A one-yard strip of brick remains at the start/finish line where the tradition of “Kissing the Bricks” takes place, a tradition that started in 1996 after Dale Jarrett won the Brickyard and continues to this day and also includes the Indianapolis 500.

Indianapolis 500 Mile Race (IZOD Indy Car Series): Best known as the Indy 500, this race runs every year over the Memorial Day weekend.  The race features formula-one racecars or the Indy Car class.  Crowds of close to 400,000 fill the grandstand and infield area as they anxiously await the roar of the engines that signify the start of the race.
